This popular market is held every Tuesday and Saturday throughout the year on the Waisenhaus-platz. Also every Thursday (with late-night shopping) from May to October.

The Bernese „Zyglogge“ – Clock Tower – is this summer even more magnificent. After an extensive renova-tion of the façade, the roof and the clock mechanism, the Zytglogge is set and ready for this summer season.

The Gurten (altitude 860 metres) is Berne’s own “mountain”. The scenic summit can be reached on foot.

Founded in 1962, the CAMERATA BERN is a highly-acclaimed chamber orchestra uniting top level musicians inspired by the idea of performing within a flexible, self-conducted ensemble.

It is a four day festival which is held every year in July. The acts are mainly bands from the rock and pop scene, however blues and hip hop artists are regularly as well part of the lineup.

The Bern City Theater on Granary Square (Kornhausplatz) stages opera, dance and dramatic performances. The Bern Symphony Orchestra is its musical partner.
