Chocolate attraction and castle tour

The Maison Cailler chocolate attraction is in the Gruyère district, not far from Bern. The factory of Switzerland’s oldest chocolate brand offers an insight into the history and the various production stages of Cailler chocolate. At the end of the tour, visitors can sample the sweet temptations and make purchases from the shop. Interested visitors can round off the chocolate experience with a workshop in the Atelier du Chocolat run by a Cailler chocolate maker.

After seeing the chocolate factory, move on to the historic town of Gruyères, the old seat of the counts on a hill overlooking the river Saane in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. Amble through the medieval passages of this picturesque town, savor specialties of the Gruyère region in one of many taverns or visit the 13th century castle and the HR Giger museum, which showcases the work of the creator of Alien.
