Bern Cathedral

Our impressive Cathedral dates from the 15th century and is the finest example of late Gothic architecture in Switzerland. The Cathedral dominates the old-town quarter, which since 1983 has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

The grounds next to the Cathedral (Münsterplattform) offer attractive views over the River Aare and the Matte quarter along the river banks. And if you have a head for heights, then the climb to the top of the Cathedral (254 steps!) is well worth the effort.
