History Museum of Bern with the Einstein Museum

This impressive museum (located on the other side of the River Aare) is only a leisurely stroll from the Bellevue Palace. One of its major attractions is the integrated Einstein Museum, dedicated to the Nobel Prize winning physicist who lived and worked in Berne, not far from the hotel. It was in this city that Einstein in 1905 developed his famous E=mc2 formula, resulting in the Theory of Relativity which revolutionized man’s concept of time and space. The Einstein Museum extends over some 1200 square metres and embraces a wealth of memorabilia, written records, film documentaries and other exhibits, also covering the eventful history of the 20th century. Animation films, experiments and a virtual journey through the cosmos explain Einstein’s revolutionary theories in a clear and easy-to-understand way.
